Visual Locker Terms

Terms for using Visual Locker.

Operator and licence

Visual Locker is provided by Handlr Ventures Ltd, trading as Handlr AI (“Handlr AI”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Apps downloaded from the App Store are licensed, not sold.

Read Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement. It applies unless a valid custom agreement is provided through the App Store.

What Visual Locker provides

Visual Locker is a standalone local encrypted media vault for supported Apple devices. It is currently available on Apple Vision Pro, with iPhone and iPad versions in development. It can import selected Photos content, organise it in the app and save supported items back to Photos. Feature availability can depend on the app version, device, operating system and your Free or Pro access.

Spatial and Immersive viewing are not currently promised as available public features. Those controls are for Apple Vision Pro only. iPhone and iPad use ordinary 2D viewing. Product pages and the app will be updated only after Vision Pro features pass the required direct-device testing.

Free and Pro access

Visual Locker Free supports up to 25 items and 3 folders. Pro removes those limits and adds the currently listed Pro features. Existing accepted content remains available if your entitlement cannot be verified or changes.

Pro is offered as a permanent in-app purchase. Apple processes the payment and RevenueCat helps verify the entitlement. The price shown in the app is the localised App Store price that applies to you. Purchase, refund and billing matters are also subject to Apple’s terms and policies.

Restore Purchases asks Apple and RevenueCat to check for an eligible Pro purchase. A new installation may remain on Free until you choose it. Restoring Pro changes the app entitlement only and does not transfer or synchronise vault content.

Age rating

Visual Locker’s App Store age rating is 13+. This is a content suitability rating, not a separate contractual minimum age or an age-verification system. Apple’s Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID and passcode controls confirm an authorised device user, not their age. Where local law requires a parent or guardian to approve your use of apps or these terms, you must obtain that approval.

Vault access and password responsibility

Standard Unlock uses the biometric method or device passcode configured on the device. If you enable Private Password, you are responsible for choosing, recording and protecting the vault password. The device passcode cannot open that mode directly.

Handlr AI does not receive the vault password and cannot recover, reveal or reset it. Changing enrolled biometrics may invalidate the optional biometric shortcut. The vault password remains the fallback. If neither route is available, access can be restored only from another eligible copy using the required password, or the vault must be reset and its encrypted contents deleted.

Your vault, device loss and backups

You are responsible for keeping your device passcode and Apple Account secure. Handlr AI cannot see your vault, recover its encryption key or retrieve content from a device-only vault.

Each Visual Locker installation keeps an independent vault and encryption key. Media, folders, filenames, settings and deletions do not move between your Apple Vision Pro, iPhone and iPad. Visual Locker provides no account, CloudKit vault, remote media storage or cross-device vault sync.

Device-only storage is the default. Deleting or reinstalling Visual Locker, resetting the vault, erasing your Apple device or losing, replacing, damaging or having it serviced may remove the app’s local storage or encryption keys. This can cause complete and permanent loss of every image, video, folder and other item held only in Visual Locker.

Apple device backup eligibility is optional and off by default. Enabling it only makes the encrypted vault and recovery information eligible for Apple’s device backup. It does not confirm that a backup has completed or that it is current, complete or recoverable. Visual Locker cannot start, inspect, verify or guarantee an Apple or iCloud backup. The backup or restore process may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete or unsuccessful, and reinstalling the app by itself cannot retrieve an individual app backup. Apple device backup is not Visual Locker sync and we do not promise restoration between different device types.

Standard Unlock backup recovery is protected by Apple system authentication. Private Password backup recovery requires the vault password. A biometric shortcut is device-only and does not replace the password after restoration.

Do not use Visual Locker as the only copy of irreplaceable media. Keep an independent copy in Photos or another backup location you control, and verify that copy before removing an original, resetting the vault, deleting the app, erasing, replacing or servicing the device.

Photos, deletion and copies

Importing copies selected content into Visual Locker. Removing an original from Photos is a separate action, and Apple may keep it in Recently Deleted. Saving from Visual Locker creates another copy in Photos. You are responsible for confirming where copies remain before deleting important content.

Security boundaries

Visual Locker is designed to protect encrypted stored data from ordinary access while locked. No software can guarantee absolute secrecy. Content is visible while you view it, and the app cannot prevent an external camera, a compromised operating system or every normal screenshot.

Acceptable use

Use Visual Locker lawfully and only with content you are entitled to possess. Do not attempt to interfere with the app, its purchase checks, security controls or supporting services.

Changes and availability

We may update Visual Locker to improve security, reliability or compatibility. Features may change where needed to protect users, meet legal or App Store requirements or address a verified technical problem. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of App Store, Apple or third-party services.

Responsibility for content and data loss

You are responsible for deciding what to place in the vault and for maintaining independent copies of important content. Handlr AI is not responsible for loss caused by your deletion or reinstallation of the app, your vault reset or your failure to keep an independent copy after the clear warnings above. We are also not responsible for device loss, replacement, damage, service or erasure, loss of access to your device or Apple Account or Apple backup and restore failures where the event is outside our reasonable control.

Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement also contains warranty and liability terms, including terms concerning loss of data. We do not exclude responsibility for loss caused by our breach, negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, or for digital content that applicable law requires to be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. Nothing in these product terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or affects any other rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
